As a Critical Access Hospital, Mahnomen Health Center offers Out-Patient Services in many areas of care.
Cardiac Rehab Services for Phase II Cardiac Rehab is a monitored exercise program that offers safety exercise for patients who have had a heart event, ie. Heart Attack, Stent Placement, Open Heart Cardiac Bypass surgery, generally covered by insurance, that the patient attends 2-3 times a week for 6-12 weeks. They also receive nutrition and heart healthy living education. We keep the patient's Cardiologist abreast of patient's progress in Cardiac Rehab.
We also have a Wellness exercise program available to patients who wish to continue after their initial rehab is completed.
We offer a full-range of Physical and Occupational Therapy, both in-house and out-patient as well as Speech Therapy, with full-time staff available to assist in this area. Sports Medicine is offered as well.
Our Radiology Department is expanding and will soon have a CT Scan machine in place for CT Scan capability 24 hours/7 days a week.
Mahnomen Health Center's ER department is one of the busiest in the area. We have providers available 24 hours a day for those who need emergency services. We also have ACLS Ambulance services available 24 hours a day for Emergencies and for hospital transport to other facilities and we utilize Life Flight as needed for urgent Emergency Patient Transport.
Laboratory Services are available 24 hours a day/7 days a week with staff on call as needed when not in-house.
Our out-patient services also include out-patient IV and IM injection therapy for those patients who need this and wish to avoid a long trip to a larger hospital.
Social Services is available Monday through Friday as well as on call if needed offering many types of Social Services from Swing Bed care to child abuse and neglect and Mental Health counseling to Nursing Home placement information.
Mahnomen Health Center has an active Swing Bed population and patients come here for strengthening and re-cooperation before going home.
Mahnomen Health Center's Activity Department provides daily activities to Nursing Home residents and Swing Bed patients and includes: Bible Study, Rosary, Church Service, bingo, casino outings, waffle breakfasts, crafts, monthly birthday parties, sing-alongs, movies, men's groups, hair care, reading, games, and much, much more. On Thursday evenings, we have a special activity which may include: piano playing, sing-alongs, bingo or other activities of special interests. One-on-one activities are performed for residents who are unable to attend group activities. Activities are also individualized with staff making every attempt to incorporate the resident's life-long interests into their daily lives.
